Rise to the Energy Crisis!
The New York State Department of Public Service has announced its RISE TO THE ENERGY CRISIS!, summer public awareness campaign. By following these simple steps, you can reduce energy use and save money this summer:
- Using fans more and air conditioners less will keep you cool while reducing your energy bill.
- Use a programmable thermostat set at 78 degrees on your air conditioning.
- Switch to CFL bulbs, which last 10 times longer and use 75% less electricity than incandescent bulbs.
- Choose energy efficient ENERGY STAR products when buying new appliances.
- Reducing your energy helps protect the environment.
